Bennett Thilagar, M.D.

Biographical Summary

Dr. Thilagar is a Protocol Monitoring Specialist in the OCD at NIAAA. He obtained his B.A. in Biology from the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore campus, and subsequently attended Kasturba Medical College Manipal in India. He completed his clinical rotations with the University of the West Indies (St. Augustine/St. Kitts) and externships at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.  Dr. Thilagar has been involved in pre-clinical research and pharmaceutical drug development for 10 years since beginning his career in the department of Biophysics at Johns Hopkins. For the last 8 years, he has worked in oncology as a Clinical Research Manager and Senior Clinical Research Associate III at Walter Reed Bethesda, San Diego based clinical-stage drug and device company EpicentRx., and an internationally leading CRO (IQVIA).  He looks forward to bringing his monitoring knowledge, policy, and in-the-field experience with research and commercial (Phase I-IV) clinical trials to the monitoring program at NIAAA.
