Laura Novak, M.S.

Biographical Summary

Laura Novak is a fifth-year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology (Civilian Track) at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) in Bethesda, MD. She earned her M.S. in Clinical Psychology from USU in 2021, and her M.P.S. in Clinical Psychological Science from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2016. Prior to her entry into the doctoral program, she worked as a Scientific Program Coordinator in support of the USU Suicide Care, Prevention, and Research Initiative, and in various positions to support mental health research at the Department of Defense Deployment Health Clinical Center and the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury. Ms. Novak’s research interests focus on increasing understanding of factors associated with help-seeking for mental health concerns and substance use disorders, particularly among individuals at risk for suicide.
