Changes to the Certificate of Confidentiality application process

As of October 22, 2018, all Certificate of Confidentiality (Certificate) requests for non-NIH funded research will be processed by the National Institutes of Health, Office of Extramural Research (OER).  All extensions and amendments to previously issued Certificates for non-NIH funded research will also be processed by NIH/OER.

Apply for a Certificate of Confidentiality

Certificate of Confidentiality requests for non-NIH funded research should be submitted at http://grants.nih.gov/grants/policy/coc/welcome.htm

Please note: any research/study receiving NIH funding is automatically protected with a Certificate of Confidentiality. There is no need to apply for a Certificate. You may contact your Program Director or Contracting Officer with any questions.
