Bennett Thilagar, M.D.

Dr. Thilagar is a Protocol Monitoring Specialist in the Office of Clinical Director at NIAAA. He obtained his B.A. in Biology from the Johns Hopkins University. After finishing medical school, Dr. Thilagar has been involved in pre-clinical research, and as a clinical monitor in providing oversight for patient safety as part of drug and device clinical trials. For the last 9 years, he has served as a clinical monitor in oncology and other therapeutic areas and served a number of roles (Clinical Research Manager, Senior Clinical Research Associate III, and Protocol Monitoring Specialist) in both industry and government.  He now serves as a clinical monitor in monitoring protocol compliance and patient safety at NIAAA and collaborates with the Office of Research Support and Compliance (ORSC).
