Biographical Summary

Dr. Chamindi Seneviratne is a Health Scientist Administrator for the Medications Development Branch (MDB), within the Division of Treatment ant Recovery, at the National Institutes of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA). Dr. Seneviratne received her Medical Degree from Riga Stradins University (Medical Academy of Latvia) in Riga Latvia. She completed her post-doctoral research in neurobiochemistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas and Addiction Genetics at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. Prior to Joining NIAAA, Dr. Seneviratne served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Virginia and later at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She served as PI on several NIAAA grants and as a co-investigator on multiple NIH and other grants. She has authored/co-authored a number of publications and co-edited journal issues and a book on placebo research.
