Dan Schratz, B.S.
Biographical Summary
Dan Schratz joined the Clinical Neuroimaging Research Core in June 2022 after completing his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience at Union College. As part of his undergraduate research, Dan evaluated end-of-life care perspectives from patients and healthcare providers in hospice care. For his senior thesis, he tested the efficacy of dimethyl fumarate to treat the buildup of reactive oxygen species in cells with neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis (Batten’s disease). Dan is currently investigating the effects of alcohol intoxication on the safe sex habits and risky decision-making processes in populations without alcohol use disorder who drink frequently. After completing his fellowship at the NIH, Dan plans to pursue a medical degree in psychiatry with a focus in pediatrics.
