Daniel Geda, B.A.

Biographical Summary

Daniel Geda is a postbaccalaureate IRTA fellow in the Office of the Clinical Director(OCD) at NIAAA. He started working at the OCD in August of 2022 after receiving his B.A. in Psychology from Cornell University. As an undergraduate, he worked on research involving stereotype threat and its impact on anxiety, test performance, and self-confidence. In the OCD, he helps run various ongoing protocols that aim to understand more about Alcohol Use Disorder and its relationship to personal, social, environmental, cognitive, and genetic factors. Daniel is interested in the underlying causes and mechanisms involved in Substance Use Disorders and other psychopathologies. In addition, he is passionate about culturally competent mental health care that values each individual's unique background. In his free time, Daniel likes to run, read, watch TV shows, and spend time with friends and family. After completing his fellowship at NIH, Daniel intends to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology.
