Biographical Summary
Jasper van Oort joined NIAAA in 2022 after completing his PhD and psychiatry residency. He followed his residency training at the department of psychiatry of the Radboud university medical center (Radboudumc) in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. His dissertation was made possible by the collaboration between the Radboudumc and the Donders institute for brain, cognition and behavior. In his PhD he focused on transdiagnostic mechanisms of the brain’s acute stress response (fMRI) from a large-scale network perspective. His is currently interested in applying multimodal neuroimaging analyses in alcohol use disorder (AUD) and in studying the effects of stress on impulsivity in AUD.
