Tommy Gunawan, Ph.D.
Biographical Summary
Dr. Tommy Gunawan is a Visiting Postdoctoral Fellow in the Office of the Clinical Director and Section on Human Psychopharmacology of NIAAA since July 2020. He earned his doctoral degree in Behavior, Cognition, and Neuroscience from American University. During his graduate training, Dr. Gunawan investigated the impact of cigarette flavorings on smoking behavior, factors associated with the drug lapse/relapse process, and behavioral economics of drug demand. He is interested in the behavioral pharmacology of drugs of abuse, and treatments for drug addiction. He aspires to teach and conduct research at an academic institution in the future.
