Biographical Summary

Ms. Gardner has worked for NIAAA since 1998 as a writer-editor and project manager. She has helped NIAAA to launch several complex, groundbreaking initiatives for different audiences. These include award-winning clinical guides for health professionals and interactive websites the public.  Ms. Gardner works with talented teams of NIAAA leaders and program staff, grantee reviewers, and contract designers as they shape and user test each product. In DTR, she worked with Dr. Lori Ducharme and Dr. Bob Huebner on the Alcohol Treatment Navigator, an online resource released in 2017. Highlights of other projects she managed for NIAAA are provided below. Ms. Gardner holds an interdisciplinary B.S. degree (mainly biology and English) from the University of Maryland, College Park. She also did graduate work in health communications, science journalism, and science education.
